5 Tips to Make Your Contact Lenses Last Longer

Your contacts will last longer with these 5 tips!

Raise your hand if you wear contact lenses (we do!). If you’d like to learn how to make your contact lenses last as long as possible, you’re in the right place! NextDayContacts is here to share five tips and tricks on how you can ensure that your contact lenses last while keeping your eyes seeing clearly.

Tip #1: Wash your hands

Simple and effective, washing and drying your hands before handling your contact lenses will help prevent bacteria from entering into your eyes.

Tip #2: Handle contact lenses with fingers

Whenever you’re handling your contact lenses, be sure to do so with your fingers, rather than a sharp object, such as tweezers, to prevent damage to the lenses. Sharp objects can puncture your lenses, leaving you have to purchase more, so using your fingers is always a safe bet.

Tip #3: Clean and rinse with fresh solution

Fresh contact lens solution serves as a disinfectant to your contact lenses. Remove any old solution that is still in your lens case before putting your contacts in to keep your eyes seeing clearly and feeling great!

Tip #4: Stick to your wearing schedule

Wearing outdated contact lenses can cause serious damage to your eyes. Stick to the lens’ wearing schedule and order new lenses when needed. Whether you’re wearing daily or monthly lenses, sticking to your wearing schedule is very important!

Tip #5: Contact your doctor if issues arise

If you notice any signs of redness, irritation, or change in vision when wearing your contact lenses, contact your doctor to identify the issue. We always recommend seeing a doctor at least once annually in-person for your annual eye exam.
